Dentures are removable replacement teeth. Modern materials and digital impressions make them more comfortable and natural-looking than ever.
Types of dentures
- Partial dentures replace one or several missing teeth and clip onto your remaining natural teeth.
- Complete dentures replace all the teeth in the upper or lower jaw.
- Implant-supported dentures clip onto dental implants for a much more secure fit. See Implant Dentistry and All-on-4™.
What to expect
- Assessment of your mouth and remaining teeth, and a conversation about your goals.
- Digital impressions of your mouth, used to make precise dentures in the laboratory.
- Try-in and fitting, checking the look, fit and bite before your dentures are finished.
- Adjustments in the following weeks as you get used to them.
Caring for your dentures
Rinse your dentures after eating, brush them daily with a soft brush and a non-abrasive cleanser, and keep them moist when you’re not wearing them. Over time the jaw changes shape, so dentures may need relining. Regular checkups keep them fitting well.
